TechPortJobs.ca is an initiative of the Information Technology Industry Alliance of Nova Scotia (ITANS). Its goal is to support the growth and development of Nova Scotia’s IT industry through matching IT talent with Nova Scotia-based job opportunities while providing helpful information on living and working in Nova Scotia.

ITANS is a non-profit organization representing companies and individuals involved with Nova Scotia's Information Technology (IT) industry which includes:

- Supportware Manufacturing and Distribution

- Plus interest groups in Finance, Law, Accounting, and Government
ITANS key role is to facilitate business and advocacy for its members through:
- Building and maintaining an active, representative industry association.
- Facilitating opportunities to associate and develop strategic relationships with colleagues in the industry, locally, nationally, and internationally, and hosting formal and informal conferences, seminars, partnering, and social events that help to keep all members current and "in the know".
- A commitment to developing relevant training and education programs for members, and to working with academic institutions to ensure there is an appropriate educational focus to support industry requirements.
