The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) community in Nova Scotia is growing year after year with both our own computer science graduates and ICT professionals locating here from outside the province.

In support of our thriving ICT sector are several industry associations that are focused regionally and nationally.

ITANS
The Information Technology Industry Alliance of Nova Scotia (www.itans.ns.ca) (ITANS), a non-profit organization committed to promoting the growth and development of the information technology industry in Nova Scotia.

For more informal networking and connections to other IT professionals, the ITANS TechLounge occurs every third Thursday of the month at Dooly’s on Barrington Street, Halifax, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.

CIPS
Canadian Information Processing Society of Nova Scotia (www.cips.ca/cipsns) (CIPS), is a non-profit organization to dedicated to IT professionalism setting quality IT standards and practices to benefit all Canadians.

PMI
The Nova Scotia chapter of the Project Management Institute (http://www.pmi.ns.ca/) (PMI) is the leading non-profit professional project management organization.
